This meditation shawl is made in a fair trade textile plant in India, home of beautiful fabrics, and can double as a yoga wrap or prayer scarf. This meditation scarf is super-soft because it's 100% rayon, a man-made textile that's actually eco-friendly and is not considered "synthetic" because it's made from cellulose, a component of all plants. Most rayon is made from either wood pulp or bamboo, and its wearability is similar to other cellulose fibers, such as cotton or flax (linen).
Rayon is more fragile than cotton or linen, but it's also incredibly soft with wonderful drape. It's also very breathable, more moisture absorbent than cotton, and doesn't insulate body heat, so it's perfect for hot and humid climates. And during cold weather, it does not build up static electricity, so you can wear it with your sweaters.
This ultra-soft scarf is about 28 inches wide by 72 inches long. The pattern is woven into the fabric, so it's a bit more subtle than in the photo.
